Southampton City Council has been working with the Woolston and Itchen community, to find out what your priorities are for making the area safer for people walking and cycling, and more pleasant for everyone.

Below is a Consultation Questionnaire which you can use to comment on the proposed measures for one (or more) of the locations listed.

Following the 2021 perceptions survey, we held a series of co-design workshops earlier this year, where we discussed your concerns and potential solutions with you in small groups, focusing on the 17 streets which had generated the most feedback.

Our designers have now assessed the feasibility of the ideas and solutions put forward, and have created plans to improve the areas you have concerns about.

The questionnaire is in 3 sections, outlined in the map below. There is also a detailed map of each one in the ‘Maps’ section on this page, and a list of the locations within each area is also listed below.

You do not need to comment on all the locations. Just skip to the section and location you wish to review and provide your feedback on.

Click on any of the images in the questionnaire to expand them for a better view.

Below is a list of the key locations included within each map area.

Map 1: Itchen

  • Bridge Road / Peartree Road
  • Sea Road
  • Radstock Road / Manor Road
  • Bishops Road

Map 2: Central Woolston

  • John’s Road
  • Obelisk Road
  • Fort Road
  • West Road / Hazeleigh Road

Map 3: South Woolston

  • Victoria Road / Vosper Road / Weston Grove Road Junction
  • Weston Grove / Church Road
  • Archery Road

In addition to the measures listed for each area, we propose implementing a 20mph throughout the Woolston and Itchen area and adding greenery where feasible.

We are keen to hear your views on the plans, so please complete the questionnaire by Sunday 18 September 2022. Your feedback will be used to finalise the designs.
